Our monthly Meditation for World Peace and Harmony group met last Sunday. After meeting for several months, I cannot fully describe the power of meditation in my life.
So how does the power of meditation impact a person’s life?
The first thought that comes to me goes back to my days as an avid Bible student:
Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.
~ Mathew 18:19-20.
Spirit is always with us, but agreeing in prayer and meditation with two or more people has a more significant impact. Even when we are alone, we connect spiritually with others worldwide.
Lynn McTaggart builds on this concept in her study
In April 2018, Science of Mind Magazine article (describing the study in her book The Power of Eight), Lynn McTaggart shared the following:
This journey began in 2005 when McTaggart asked some basic questions about the power of thought: Can we use intention to heal the world? And what happens when lots of people are thinking the same thought at the same time? Does it magnify the effect? .
Working with a large and respected consortium of scientists highly experienced in consciousness research, she developed the world’s largest global laboratory to test the power of mass intention to heal some of the world’s major issues.Of the people who stayed in their groups and met weekly, virtually 100 percent reported amazing transformations in their lives. And their thoughts seemed to be influencing the situations they were praying over, too.
Dawson Church, Ph.D., talks about the power of meditation in his article, Resonating with the Divine.
In the March/April issue of Unity Magazine, he describes his meditation experience:
I tune in to the millions of other people who are meditating at that same moment, coming into resonance with them. I’m interacting vibrationally with every other person on the planet who is meditating at that moment too. Their resonance amplifies my signal. To a tiny degree, my signal also amplifies their signal.
In my book Bliss Brain, I describe the experience of meditators resonating with the Infinite. They leave their local reality and come into vibrationa synchrony with a nonlocal mind. When you make this a daily practice, the signal gets stronger and your brain begins to change.
With each heartfelt prayer or meditation, we can change ourselves as we change the world around us.
So, is there power in meditation? I would say a big yes!
