Visioning is an excellent tool for taking us out of everyday life and into the spiritual realm. You can vision to create your best life.
The practice of visioning was developed and taught by Rev. Michael Beckwith, senior minister at Agape International Spiritual Center.
According to Rev. Michael:
Visioning is a process by which we train ourselves to be able to hear, feel, see, and catch God’s plan for our life or for any particular project we’re working on. An organic process that has evolved for me as I grow spiritually, it is based on the idea that we’re not here to tell God what do or to ask God for things but to absolutely be available for what God is already doing, to open ourselves up to catch what’s already happening. My initial discoveries more than 20 years ago on my spiritual path allowed me to see that there is a bigger pattern of life, a level of reality beyond the mere human experiential life. These awareness’s shifted my perception tremendously and the visioning process developed as a way of applying that new insight.
Two years ago, when life changed for me, I participated in a visioning process that created the wonderful life I now experience. My life was a deep empty void at the time, and I needed direction to move forward.
But what about when you are experiencing a blockage in your life? Can we vision that away?
This week, I was part of a group where we were asked to find something holding us back. For me, it was judgment. Others expressed a desire for more confidence and to get along with certain people.
The facilitator asked us to visualize our fears/blockages as tangible objects. I saw it as a brick wall. Others saw it as a ball and chain around their necks. The imagined object was not important; What was important was how we felt about the object. Was it tangible to each of us?
Then we were asked how we would feel if we could change it; What would it look like? Naturally, there were many different answers. Most of us sat in silence as we imagined being free from the blockage.
In my case, I knew that the wall was there to protect me. But I soon saw a door in the wall. Not a regular door but a loose swinging door where I could go in and out through the wall.
There was such a strong feeling of freedom from that simple visioning exercise. Creating our own release opened up new possibilities to move forward into our best life.
Next time you feel a blockage in your life, try this exercise. If you need someone to help, I would be happy to coach you through it. Check it out here!
