Awakening Meditative Practice

A few weeks ago, I shared Jessica Elizabeth Taylor’s book,  A Spiritual Awakening. After further contemplation of her book, I feel I left the article incomplete without adding her Awakening Meditative Practice.

Often, when we lose our way or forget we are one with the One, certain practices can center us back in Spirit. Spiritual practices are critical during times of doubt or uncertainty. When practiced regularly, they can change our everyday lives.

Jessica posted a beautiful meditative practice at the end of her book.

Following is an excerpt from her Epilogue, which outlines this practice.Awakening Meditative Practice

I would like to share the following spiritual exercise I devised with you now: Go outside and stand straight on grass or sand with bare feet. This will allow you to feel closer to Mother Earth. (In winter, it’s OK to keep your shoes on but you need to be outside.) Close your eyes and see yourself at onement with all of nature on Earth, the stars, and all humanity. Then do not see yourself in the town and country you live in. Block those images from your mind, and feel yourself standing on the surface of planet Earth where, in truth, you actually are. Keep focusing on the roundness of Mother Earth under your feet while becoming aware that your soul and spirit are part of the universe. As your mind expands, you might feel your spirit self by way of being “huge,” as some have reported. You may also envision the Earth as your spiritual mother and the universe as your spiritual father, the sun as your spiritual brother, and the moon as your spiritual sister. Also, please remember that the soul is the true self and the physical body its vehicle.

We must also remember that Jesus said ‘The Kingdom of God is not in word but in power” (1Cointhians. 5:20.Vulgate.) It is important to remember that as children of the universe, we are pure in spirit as souls with a divine soul purpose and that our true spiritual nature resides within us. Because of this, we have the power to choose our paths wisely. Becoming spiritually enlightened human beings is, without a doubt, the path to a better future.  Namesta.

I trust that by engaging in this Awakening Meditative Practice, we will remember who we are in the world, thus making the world a better place for all of us!
