What does it mean to be living in Self-Mastery mode? It is a living process of becoming who we truly are in Spirit. Not necessarily who we are physically, although what we do with our lives is part of it. But self-mastery is an endless path of learning.
An excerpt from Science of Mind Magazine Daily Guide for July 2, 2025, that caught my attention:
Rev. Dr. Ron Fox’s definition of self-mastery mode
What is self-mastery? It is being the best you can possibly be. It is doing the work to release useless stories and limiting beliefs. It is transcending self-defeating behaviors, freeing ourselves from past hurts and grudges. It is knowing you are spiritually powerful and that whatever is showing up in your life you have created. It is remembering who you really are. That is what Meister Eckhardt meant when he said, “God is not found in the soul by adding anything, but by a process of subtraction.”
~ Rev. Dr. Ron Fox
I have lived my life believing I was put on earth at this point in time for a reason. Generally speaking, I think my reason is to manifest Spirit in my life and world. More specifically, to share the gifts and talents given to me to enrich the world! As Rev. Ron writes, “Self-mastery is a process of becoming.”
Now, in my senior years, I understand better that life is a journey towards discovering who I really am: what my purpose is, and who I am meant to be. If that sounds involved and maybe vague, it is because it is. And it can change and evolve over the years. One thing I am sure of is that self-mastery is a constant journey towards the perfection we are meant to be. It is not something we will totally reach, such as a destination … at least not in our lifetime on earth.
Rev. Ron also tells us, “We all have everything we need to create the life of our dreams.” What a wonderful perspective on the power of Spirit in our lives. He goes on to say, “It is an endless path of learning. And isn’t that what makes life so exciting and filled with joy?”
WOW! What a beautiful outlook on life. Of course, the process of growing and learning through various situations and circumstances is what makes life interesting and fulfilling. Makes me feel grateful for everything I experience in my life and what I can look forward to in the future.
How about you? How is living in self-mastery mode working for you?
