‘Pray Without Ceasing’ with Affirmations

Paul’s words in the Bible,  ‘pray without ceasing’, always baffled me!

How can we live in the world and go about our business of living while praying without ceasing?

After much thought and study, I discovered that the only way to pray without ceasing is to express positive thanksgiving for life and everything in it — which is the basis of affirmations!

Affirmations are a very short statement of truth about somethinghttps://www.pinterest.com/NewThoughtSpirituality/daily-affirmations/louise-hay-affirmations/ you are seeking a greater experience of in your life.

They are a wonderful way to change our thinking from the negative to the positive in any situation.  Affirmations are great tools for changing our thinking process to be open to the goodness available to us.

We can create and practice affirmations concerning any area of our life, our world or any circumstance in our life.

Using Affirmations

The Mind Tools Content Team states you can use affirmations in any situation where you’d like to see a positive change take place in your life. These might include times when you want to:

  • Raise your confidence before presentations or important meetings.
  • Control negative feelings such as frustration, anger, or impatience.
  • Improve your self-esteem.
  • Finish projects you’ve started.
  • Improve your productivity.
  • Overcome a bad habit.

Emma Curtis Hopkins lists her five universal affirmation:

  1. My Good is my God. My God is Life, Truth, Love, Substance, Intelligence—omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent.
  2. In God, I live and move and have my being.
  3. I am Spirit, Mind, Wisdom, Strength, Wholeness.
  4. The I AM works inevitably through me to will and to do that which ought to be done by me
  5. I am governed by the law of God and cannot sin or fear sin, sickness or death.
