Following is one in a series of articles based on the words of New Thought leaders — current or past.
New Thought Inspiration from Charles Fillmore
Charles Sherlock Fillmore (August 22, 1854 – July 5, 1948) founded Unity, a church within the New Thought movement, with his wife, Myrtle Page Fillmore, in 1889. He became known as an American mystic for his contributions to spiritualist interpretations of biblical Scripture.
“Men who accomplish great things in the industrial world are the ones who have faith in the money producing power of ideas.”
Charles Fillmore is known for starting the Unity Church, one of the biggest organizations within the New Thought Movement. Both Charles and Myrtle, his wife, believed in the power of thoughts and/or ideas.
The Fillmores belief in the power of their thoughts was instrumental in bringing about the needed changes in their lives. For example, Myrtle’s strong belief was demonstrated through her deep prayer and faith which healed her of several ailments including chronic tuberculosis. Those beliefs and demonstrations, I am sure, lead to the successful establishment of the Unity and New Thought movement — as illustrated in his words above and below.
You can accomplish great things when you believe in and act on the power of your ideas! Looking at the size and scope of the Unity movement today — nearly 70 years after Charles’ death — the power of his ideas proves to impact a large group of people.
How much do you have faith in the power of your ideas and words? Once you fully embrace those ideas and words, you can accomplish anything you think is possible. Even things which seem miraculous in nature.
One last quote on the power of your words from Charles Fillmore:
