LET CHRISTMAS COME

Let Christmas come first
Into the inner heart,
God’s gift of Love renewed.
Oh, cherish the gift
And hold it close for a time.
Let the gift be nurtured
with faith and hope and joy.
Then let this gift be released,
released with every card,
released with every gift,
released with “Merry Christmas”
every time the words are spoken.
Oh, celebrate Christmas first
in the heart, then let
the celebration flower into a gift
that will renew the world–
your world, yes…and mine!
