Love What You Have

If you want more in your life, learn to love what you have. I thought I understood the concept and applied it to my life.

Then came the fire that destroyed our home and belongings. It was then that I really learned to love what I had.

This concept does not have anything to do with what you have or don’t have. It applies to loving what is right in front of you and being appreciative of allLove What You Have of it.

My husband and I now live in a smaller mobile home with limited furnishings. Despite that, I love it! You know, less to clean and dust and wash! But it is more than this too.

Having lost everything, we had a chance to live this lesson. When we moved into our new home (more than two months after the fire), we moved about two cars full of stuff — most of which was given to us by a dear friend. Every little thing we received or bought after that was like experiencing Christmas over and over again.

So why am I telling this story?

Because we lived the principle of loving what we had to give us peace and joy in our life.

You don’t need to live through an experience like ours to learn to love what you have. Anyone can make a conscious effort to focus and appreciate life.

When you go to bed at night, remember the things you are thankful for during the day. When you wake up, think of all the things you are grateful for having and doing during the day. Slowly your situation will shift around, and you will find that you have everything you need. Maybe you don’t think you have it now, but being thankful for the little things opened the Universe to supply what you need. This practice makes you genuinely live the Law of Attraction.

Does this sound too simple?

Let me prove it to you:

Make a list of as many things you can think of that you are grateful for. Start with your family members, or maybe your work or job. You can build on it from there.

Now post it somewhere you will see it regularly. Each time you read your list, say a quiet prayer of thanksgiving.

In time, you will notice a difference.

I sure did!
